To unite agricultural experts and thought leaders from the African diaspora in a wellness-oriented retreat that fosters collaboration, rejuvenates momentum and sparks ideas for Black agricultural equity.
(approach)
We gathered farmers, designers, investors, and food systems advocates to exchange ideas, deepen community ties, and collectively envision transformative solutions for Black agriculture.
(RESULTS)
Key insights emerged in three major areas: • Restoration and Equity – Emphasizing land repatriation and cooperative ownership to combat historical land loss among Black farmers. •Technological Innovation – Exploring solutions like blockchain for sustainable farming and supply chain transparency. •Business Model Innovation – Identifying strategies to revitalize farming as a wealth generator, including agrotourism and local food systems.
The retreat culminated in actionable strategies for building resilient, sustainable agricultural systems for Black farmers globally.
